(click on the photo to enlarge it) In case of severe nasal bleedig a packing may need to be applied to put a pressure on the bleeding artery or vein..(nasal bleed may be arterial or venous in origin) and the pressure of the packing then puts blocking effect on the bleeding vessel… the packing commony used is made of cotton ribbon.
